Mapping

Northwest Mosquito Abatement District provides mosquito control for eight townships. The mapping system used by the district is an extension of the township mapping system. Maps consist of 242 square miles, which are divided into 36 square mile units called sections.

The implementation of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to assist in mapping has provided more detailed and spatially accurate maps through aerial photography overlays, creation and organization of new and existing district-specific map features, and streamlined the map editing process for changes found through source surveillance. Additionally, field technicians use Mesa tablets equipped with GPS to more effectively access and treat mosquito-production sources and efficiently capture data for both Larviciding and Adulticiding operations.

Night spray maps are most important to our residents. Below, click on your township to view the night spray map and locate yourself. Find interactive daytime and night spray maps on the Search the District page.
